Margaret Beels was appointed Director of Labour Market Enforcement in November 2021. Her Labour Market Enforcement Strategy for 2024 to 2025 was submitted to government in March 2024, then resubmitted to the new government in August 2024.
The strategy makes 12 recommendations to be taken forward by the director’s office, the Department for Business and Trade, Home Office and by the 3 labour market enforcement bodies:
- Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority (GLAA)
- Employment Agency Standards Inspectorate (EAS)
- HMRC National Minimum Wage and National Living Wage team (HMRC NMW)
