Notice 7: EDs through a Virtual Private Network (effective 22 July 2013)

Notice given by the registrar under Schedule 2 to the Land Registration Rules 2003

1.Any reference to “the Rules” or to an individual rule in this notice is to the Land Registration Rules 2003 (SI 2003/1417).

2.Arrangements have been made for dealing with the following electronic applications by means of a virtual private network over the internet:

(a) notification of the discharge of a registered estate in a registered title from a registered charge under rule 115, and

(b) application to register a discharge so notified.

3.Applications may be delivered between 0630 hours and 2200 hours (inclusive) on any day Monday to Friday and 0700 hours to 1700 hours (inclusive) on any Saturday, which is not Christmas Day, Good Friday or a day specified as or proclaimed to be a bank holiday in England and Wales in or under section 1 of the Banking and Financial Dealings Act 1971. (Applications lodged on a Saturday will be stored until Daylist opens on the following working day.)

4.Notification and application may only be made by persons who have current permission from the registrar to use this facility and in accordance with the terms of the applicable Interface Specification, Memorandum of Understanding and Service Level Agreement.

5.Notification and application will only be accepted in relation to the discharge of the whole of the charge over a registered title.

6.Notification and application will not be accepted in relation to the discharge of a sub-charge over a registered title.

7.This notice shall be current for the purposes of Schedule 2 to the Rules on and after 22 July 2013.
