These syllabuses should be read with MGN 695 and replace the UK Ship register large yacht services, helicopter guidance.

Courses approved by the MCA and run in accordance with the requirements set down in these syllabuses will be considered as meeting the training requirements of the REG Yacht Code.

The aviation inspection bodies (AIB) accepted by MCA for surveys relative to the yacht codes is the Helideck Certification Agency (HCA) and Safeguard Helideck Certification.
