The National Law Enforcement Data Programme (NLEDP) is delivering the Law Enforcement Data Service (LEDS) as a replacement for the Police National Computer and the Police National Database.

A Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) is required where data processing is likely to result in a ‘high risk’ to the rights and freedoms of individuals. This is defined in the Data Protection Act 2018. LEDS will be a valuable tool for law enforcement in the UK, enabling them to better protect society from crime.

Final sign-off was obtained on 28 October 2020.

This publication is the second of this series on LEDS.
