Details

This document explains how Lead Local Flood Authorities (LLFAs) are funded to carry out their new duties under the Flood and Water Management Act 2010.

It shows that, since April 2013, the funding has been provided through a Local Services Support Grant (LSSG), and through their settlement (‘the start-up funding assessment’ or SFA). This funding is not ring fenced and local authorities are free to decide how much to spend in the light of other local priorities.

Table 1 in the document shows the direct Defra grant allocations to each LLFA for 2015 to 2016.
