Following the horrific fire at Grenfell Tower, the Regulator has written the letters listed here.
Letter to registered providers on health and safety of occupants – 20 June 2017
The Regulator reminds all registered providers of social housing of their obligations to comply with all relevant health and safety legislation. This requires that registered providers shall meet all applicable statutory requirements that provide for the health and safety of occupants in their homes.
Letter to registered providers on the Building Safety Programme – 27 July 2017
A follow-up letter to registered providers about remediation building safety works and the importance of bringing any concerns about the financial implication of this work to the attention of the Regulator.
Letter to national tenant organisations to share with their tenant networks – 23 August 2017
The Regulator discussed with national tenant organisations that we would write to them about our statutory role and what we are doing to remind social landlords of their health and safety responsibilities. The letter is being shared by the organisations with their tenant networks.
