The attached spreadsheet provides the information to questions 1 and 2. The life in the UK test is administered for the Home Office by Learndirect. Some statistical information is provided by Learndirect to the Home Office each month.
Learndirect report incidents of possible cheating to the Home Office. The following figures include incidents of people trying to take notes into the test, suspected of using earpieces, or trying to use translation sites.
* 2011: 23 incidents
* 2012: 8 incidents
* 2013 (figures to end of September): 5 incidents
Learndirect forward total numbers of complaints to the Home Office on a monthly basis. The following figures include all complaints and requests for fee refunds (a large proportion relate to technical issues), and identity candidate errors in completing the on-line booking system. * 2011: 399 * 2012: 1159 * 2013 (figures to end of September): 845
