Livestock control posts in Great Britain

Find an approved control post to rest livestock being imported to, exported from, or transiting through Great Britain.

Details

Control posts are places where you can rest livestock for 12 hours or more. They are overseen by an official veterinarian to maintain biosecurity and the health status of any animal entering the control post.

To use a control post, you must contact the control post operator to make a booking before you start your journey. The operators will advise you of the relevant procedures within their control post.

These are not the same as border control posts (BCPs), which are places approved for the import of animals, animal products and products of non-animal origin from non-EU countries.
