Details

The directions from the Secretary of State require specified local authorities in England (excluding London) to carry out an annual air quality review or to produce an action plan.

An annual air quality review includes an assessment of whether the air quality standards and objectives in the Air Quality (England) Regulations 2000 are being achieved.

An action plan sets out the measures a local authority will take to improve air quality when there is a breach of the standards or objectives.
