Details

The document is a non-legally binding Framework Agreement between DCMS, BBC, commercial local DAB multiplex operators, Arqiva and Ofcom, which sets out the commitments of all parties to support the expansion of the local digital radio (DAB) network to commercial ILR FM equivalence as set out in the local DAB expansion plan developed by Ofcom. The Framework Agreement supersedes the MoU agreed between the parties on 11 July 2012. The programme of work to build out the local DAB network is scheduled to begin in March 2015 and, when completed, will extend local DAB coverage from around 72% of homes at present to circa 90% of UK households by late 2016.
