The local government finance policy statement sets out the government’s intentions for the Local Government Finance Settlement for 2024 to 2025.

The government recognises that providing councils with greater certainty on key aspects of their funding is vital for the budget setting process. In December 2022, we published a policy statement to give councils forward notice of our proposals for the 2024 to 2025 Settlement - this policy statement builds on that by providing additional details of the upcoming 2024 to 2025 Settlement.
