Details

Following the announcement of Local Nutrient Mitigation Fund Round 1 funding recipients last year, Round 2 opened in March for further funding submissions. Local planning authorities affected by nutrient neutrality were invited to submit a bid for funding to deliver nutrient mitigation schemes, with the aim of progressing stalled housing delivery in affected catchments.

This government is clear that we need to act so that development can progress in areas affected by nutrient pollution, while delivering positive environmental outcomes.

We are announcing £45 million for 7 local authority areas for Round 2, and we will also provide these areas with capacity funding. Additionally, catchments over 10,000 hectares in size will each benefit from £100,000 of Nutrient Support Funding, which will be distributed to lead local planning authorities for each catchment.
