Local skills improvement plans (LSIPs) aim to:
- put employers at the centre of the skills system
- build a stronger and more dynamic partnership between employers and further education providers
- allow provision to be more responsive to the skills needs of employers in local labour markets
LSIPs will set out:
- the current and future skills needs
- how local provision needs to change to help people develop the skills they need to get good jobs and increase their prospects
We invited employer representative bodies (ERBs) to apply to lead the development of LSIPs for a specified local area. The deadline for applications was 6 June 2022.
The documents provided are:
- the expression of interest (EoI) form
- guidance on how to fill out the form and further information about LSIPs
For updates and frequently asked questions, register for the Jaggaer government portal.
We held a webinar for interested ERBs on 9 May at 3pm.
A pilot scheme in 8 areas tested how LSIPs could best work. For more information about the resulting plans, read local skills improvement plan trailblazers.
