Local transport resource funding: 2025 to 2026

Published 31 March 2025

Applies to England

Local transport resource funding is a one-year grant that enables local transport authorities (LTAs) to build capacity and capability.

It is allocated to LTAs that are located in England outside London and in areas that receive City Region Sustainable Transport Scheme (CRSTS) funding.

Funding allocations are calculated based on the following formula:

  • population (70%)
  • equal split between local authorities (30%), ensuring a minimum ‘floor’ for all recipients
