Details

The Improvement and Assurance Panel was appointed by the Secretary of State to provide support and challenge to the London Borough of Croydon as they seek to address the failings which have led to their difficulties. The Panel also provides assurance to the Secretary of State on the Council’s progress.

The Panel’s first report reflects this role in providing an initial assessment of the Council’s position and immediate next steps.

The Secretary of State’s response to the Improvement and Assurance Panel’s report notes their initial assessment of the Council’s progress in making improvements and stresses the key role that the Panel’s subsequent reports will have in providing evidence on which any further actions would be based.
