The Tower Hamlets Best Value inspectors submitted their Best Value Inspection report on 31 July 2024. The report notes that the Council has already taken steps to make improvements, including in response to the Local Government Association’s Corporate Peer Challenge report of September 2023 and documents serious concerns across a number of areas which ministers consider amount to failings by the Council of its Best Value Duty under Part 1 of the Local Government Act 1999.
