Independent review of apprenticeships and their accessibility to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by Jason Holt, chief executive officer of the Holts Group, and a leading small and SME owner and entrepreneur. Advises on how to give SME employers more control in apprenticeship the system, and to make it more responsive to SME needs. Makes recommendations around raising awareness of the benefits of apprenticeships, empowering SMEs to get the best from their training providers, and simplifying ownership and responsibility for the apprenticeships programme and removing barriers.
