This prison service instruction (PSI) details the roles and responsibilities of prisons when it comes to managing each prisoner’s finances and ensuring that all financial transactions are processed properly.
It covers what the prison needs to do with money brought in by the prisoner, day-to-day expenses and any transfers into or out of their account.
This is a current PSI. It came into effect on 1 January 2012 and was last updated on 27 January 2020.
