Details

This prison service instruction (PSI) describes how tools and equipment should be managed within a prison environment.

It includes guidelines on the safe and secure ways for tools and equipment to be:

  • managed
  • stored on site
  • disposed of effectively

It also includes separate guidance on the management of high risk items like skips, climbing aids and vehicles.

This is a current PSI. It came into effect on 1 October 2011.
