The former military base in Manston, Kent, is used by the Home Office as an arrivals and processing centre for people who arrive in the UK by small boat crossings. The Home Office is now planning to upgrade the current infrastructure, creating a purpose built reception centre that will replace the current facilities on the same area of the site.
