1. How we use your information
We currently collect and process the following information:
- personal identifiers and contact details (for example, name and email address)
The information we process is provided to us by you directly. We use this information to send you our monthly email newsletter, ad-hoc email updates, respond to your enquiry, briefings and event invitations.
Our content may include updates from the wider Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) such as UK Ship Register and Maritime Future Technologies and UK government departments that support UK maritime.
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information:
- for the MCA to carry out our public task to bring you relevant news and updates related to maritime and shipping, which may include regulation and compliance
You can remove your details at any time by clicking ‘unsubscribe’ at the bottom of the email or by emailing contact@ukshippingconcierge.gov.uk.
2. How long we will retain your information
We will retain your data for as long as we have a purpose to contact you about the wok that we are undertaking, You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time by using the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email or by emailing contact@ukshippingconcierge.gov.uk.
When you unsubscribe from our emails, you will be marked as “Do not email” in our CRM system to prevent you from receiving any further communication.
We may retain your details for the sole purpose of preventing your address from being added to an email list again in the future.
You can contact us to ask for your personal data to be updated or permanently deleted, at any time by emailing contact@ukshippingconcierge.gov.uk.
Data stored in our CRM will be reviewed at least annually.
3. Who we will share your information with
Your information is stored securely in our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, Microsoft Dynamics, this is managed by our third-party processor EY Pythagoras.
4. Your Rights
The UK Shipping Concierge is part of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency.
