Our goal is for UK domestic maritime to aim for zero fuel lifecycle greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2050, with at least a 30% reduction by 2030 and an 80% reduction by 2040, relative to 2008 levels.

Alongside this strategy, we have included an analytical annex for the strategy. Additionally, see the Maritime emissions modelling framework for more information.

Our maritime decarbonisation strategy is aligned with the International Maritime Organization (IMO) GHG strategy.
