Hugh Robertson, Minister for Sport and the Olympics has reappointed Mark Hanson as a board member of UK Sport until March 2016.

Biographical details

Mark is the head of Pelorus Research and a partner at Holdingham Group. He has previously served as a strategy consultant at Bain & Company, the Diplomatic Service including a posting to Tehran and as a British Army officer on active service in Iraq during Operation Desert Storm. Mark has a degree in history from Cambridge University, an MBA (distinction) from INSEAD and also studied at New Delhi University.

He chairs the Major Events Panel at UK Sport and represents the interests of UK Sport and DCMS on the board of the World Athletics Championships 2017 Ltd. Mark was appointed to the UK Sport Board in June 2011.
