Details

The purpose of this compliance advice is to help businesses to understand and comply with their existing obligations under consumer protection law when marketing green heating and insulation products.

This advice sets out several compliance principles to help businesses understand and fulfil their obligations under consumer protection law, in relation to providing headline price information and making product claims in marketing. It also provides illustrative examples of how these principles can be applied to different marketing claims.

While the compliance advice is designed to help businesses, it is not legal advice. Responsibility for complying with the law remains with businesses themselves.

This advice has been produced as part of the CMA’s work looking at consumer protection in the green heating and insulation sector.
