Candidates should demonstrate the ability to apply the knowledge outlined in this oral examination syllabus and the Deck oral examination syllabus for Master Near Coastal <500 GT (Previously known as Deck oral exam syllabus D), by the appropriate responses, anticipations and reactions to a range of routine, non-routine and contingency scenarios as presented by the examiner, from the perspective of Master – Domestic Vessels Within a Specified Area – Less than 3000 GT (STCW II/3).
This is guidance to all Owners, Masters, Officers, Ratings and those concerned with maritime training. This guidance should be read with with MSN 1856 - Amendment 1, MIN 690 - Amendment 2 and replaces the syllabuses published on UK seafarer careers: Training provision, information and examination syllabuses.
