Health and Social Care Secretary Matt Hancock has written to Dr Chaand Nagpaul, Chair of the British Medical Association (BMA), outlining his commitment to working with the BMA on upcoming contract negotiations for:

  • consultants
  • general practitioners
  • junior doctors
  • specialty and associate specialists

The Health and Social Care Secretary says that he wants to work closely with the BMA to agree a deal that pays fairly, improves morale and values doctors – and, in doing so, meets the shared aim of improving patient care.
