On 16 January 2024, representatives of the governments of Mexico and the United Kingdom held the First Multilateral and Human Rights Dialogue, where the British delegation was led by the Director of Multilateral Affairs and Human Rights at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, Freya Jackson; accompanied by the UK Global Ambassador for Human Rights, Rita French; and the UK Ambassador to Mexico, Jon Benjamin.
They discussed opportunities to strengthen cooperation at the multilateral level, exchanged views on current geopolitical challenges, addressed the human rights situation in their respective countries and shared best practices in their defence and promotion.
