This note replaces MGN 422 (M) and should be read with the code of safe working practices for merchant seafarers and regulations referred to in annex 1.

  • to ensure that the new systems comply with the current BS/EN standards
  • to ensure that existing systems have been checked to an equivalent standard
  • to ensure maintenance is carried out to the manufacturer’s advice
