Michael Francis Trafford and Trafford trading as Wroxham Home Farms has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is to vary licence serial number 7/34/09/*S/0135 which authorises the abstraction of water from inland waters known as the River Bure, tributaries, and Broads.

The variation applied for is to increase quantities abstracted from the Norton’s Broad at National Grid Reference TG 29080 16821 to:

  • 150,000 cubic metres per year
  • 2,448 cubic metres per day
  • 102 cubic metres per hour
  • at an instantaneous rate not exceeding 31 litres per second
  • between 01 November to 31 March inclusive.

The variation is for filling a new reservoir for subsequent spray irrigation.
