Details of the application

Michael Roy Watkins, David Roy Watkins and Nicola Mary Watkins trading as MR and DM Watkins and Son has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is to vary licence serial number 19/55/18/0422 which authorises the abstraction of water from the River Wye, an un-named tributary of the River Wye and the Wriggle Brook, for the purpose of spray irrigation from May to September.

The variation applied for is to remove abstraction points on the un-named tributary of the River Wye and Wriggle Brook from the licence and add 2 new reaches for abstraction from the River Wye between National Grid References SO 57325 34743 and SO 57545 33944, and SO 54290 37124 and SO 55034 36192. The licence allows the quantities of 363.7 cubic metres per day and 27,275 cubic metres per year to be taken from the existing abstraction points on the River Wye and this will remain unchanged. It is proposed that abstraction from the additional reaches will be limited within these same quantities such that no additional water is being applied for.
