Mick George Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a licence to abstract water from alluvium at Bridge Farm, Earith, Cambridgeshire from two areas formed by straight lines between National Grid References: (Area A) TL 39471 76846, TL 39914 76973, TL 39676 76289, and TL 39971 76672; and (Area B) TL 39162 77830, TL 39488 77971, TL 39202 77578 and TL 39549 77717 to transfer it to Cranbrook Drain at National Grid Reference TL 39434 76493 without intervening use.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

From area A:

  • 125 cubic metres an hour

  • 3,000 cubic metres a day

  • 500,000 cubic metres a year

  • between 01 April and 31 March inclusive in each year.

From area B:

  • 105 cubic metres an hour

  • 2,500 cubic metres a day

  • 415,000 cubic metres a year

  • between 01 April and 31 March inclusive in each year.
