This is the second mid-size business customer survey to explore attitudes and perceptions of HMRC and tax policy.

About 1,800 businesses were interviewed initially, and 20 follow-up interviews examined issues in more depth.

The survey looked at:

  • the experiences of mid-size businesses in dealing with HMRC
  • perceptions of current tax administration
  • attitudes towards tax compliance
  • awareness and perceptions of recent tax policy
