Details

On 30 January 2024 a revised Best Value Notice was issued as a formal notification that the department had concerns regarding Middlesbrough Council and requesting that the authority engages with the department to provide further assurance of improvement.

On 9 September 2024 the authority was notified that ministers are reassured as to the authority’s capacity to comply with its Best Value Duty under the Local Government Act 1999 and that the Notice will not be reissued at this time.
