1. Agenda item 1 - Welcome and introductions
1. The minutes for the December MAC meeting were agreed.
2. Agenda item 2 - Home Office, MAC Secretariat and MAC updates
2. Paul Regan updated the MAC on Home Office work. He told the committee that the program of engagement on the contents of the White Paper had started to meet employers and representative bodies.
3. Jennifer Bradley, on behalf of the MAC Secretariat, updated the Committee on the ongoing stakeholder engagement as part of the review of the Shortage Occupation list.
4. Alan Manning gave an update on his attendance at an international student meeting and that he gave evidence at the Immigration Bill Scrutiny Committee
3. Agenda item 3 - Update on SOL Draft Chapters
5. Sam O’Sullivan gave an update on the SOL methodology chapter and there was a discussion as to how to use the indicators to best assess shortages.
6. Peter Gambrill, Maria Del Castillo and Anita Singh gave an update on the chapter relating to the responses to the call for evidence.
7. Peter presented an analysis of the data. Maria gave an overview of responses from representative bodies and then Anita gave an overview of responses from businesses
8. Peter Gambrill presented chapter occupational areas to focus on and Dominic Hearth gave an overview on the proposed chapter template for sectors.
4. Agenda item 4 – SOL Stakeholder engagement: Regional events
9. Tracy Liennard gave an update on how the current stakeholder engagement was progressing and planned regional events across the UK.
5. Agenda item 5 - SOL Work plan
10. Maria Del Castillo gave an update on the report workplan. There was an action to agree chapter leads ahead of the next MAC meeting.
6. Agenda item 6 – Any other business
11. No other business.
