Apply online - Veteran only

You can request a copy of your service records using this online form if you are an ex-serviceperson (also referred to as veteran).

Note: This is not a mandatory form. MOD will also accept requests made in other ways (e.g. by post or email).

By post or email

Currently, the online form is not suitable for current servicepersons. Current servicepersons should download and complete the Subject Access Request (SAR) form and email or hand it in to their local unit.

Email and postal addresses are on the SAR form.

There is no fee.

You can apply if you are serving, or have served in the Royal Navy (including Royal Marines), British Army or Royal Air Force (RAF).
