MIN 575 ILO work in fishing convention medical certification grandfather rights

Amendment 1 Fishermen will be required to hold a medical fitness certificate to work on a fishing vessel. This requirement will be phased in until 2023.

This notice should be read with the merchant shipping (work in fishing convention) (medical certification) regulations 2018, MSN 1883 (F) and MSN 1886 (M+F) and replaces MIN 575 (F).

Amendment 1 reflects that the two-year period allowed for fishermen holding an overseas medical fitness certificate working on UK vessels, now must hold an ENG 1.

This MIN expires 30 November 2023
