Notice is hereby given that:
In pursuance of section 19(1) of the National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act 1949 and section 35(1) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 and all other powers enabling them in that behalf, Natural England has, by the Moccas Park and Gillian’s Wood National Nature Reserve No.02 Declaration made on the 18th day of April 2024, declared the land referred to therein a National Nature Reserve.
The land having a total area of 44.41 hectares or thereabouts, situated in the Parish of Dorstone in the Unitary Authority of Herefordshire and shown single hatched and shaded yellow on the maps attached to the said Declaration, has been acquired and is held by Natural England.
The land having a total area of 56.53 hectares or thereabouts, situated in the Parishes of Moccas and Peterchurch in the Unitary Authority of Herefordshire and shown single hatched and shaded yellow on the maps attached to the said Declaration, is held by The Woodland Trust, a body approved by Natural England, and is being managed as a nature reserve.
The said land now having a total area of 239.21 hectares or thereabouts is being managed as a nature reserve, and Natural England is satisfied that the land is of national importance.
