The modern crime prevention strategy updates the way we think about crime prevention, aiming to build on the successes of the past while making the most of new research, techniques and technology.
The strategy sets out the evidence on the 6 drivers of crime:
- opportunity
- character
- effectiveness of the criminal justice system
- profit
- drugs
- alcohol
It also sets out what action the government, law enforcement, industry, voluntary sector and public themselves can take.
