This document sets out how the effectiveness and humaneness of this year’s badger culls in West Somerset and West Gloucestershire will be monitored.

The monitoring procedures have been developed by Defra working with Natural England and the Animal Health and Veterinary Laboratories Agency (AHVLA). They will be set out in both organisations’ standard operating procedures, to ensure that reporting is consistent and reliable.
