Morgan Sindall Construction & Infrastructure Ltd has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from the Beckley Sand Member via wellpoints at National Grid Reference SP 54413 02377 (approximate centre of abstraction area) at Oxford Science Park on the outskirts of Oxford.

The application is to abstract water all year as follows:

  • 13.9 cubic metres an hour
  • 333 cubic metres a day
  • 48,850 cubic metres a year.

The water will be dewatered from a sump and trench to allow the installation of a pumping station, twin rising main and foul drainage on site. All dewatered water will be discharged to public sewer.
