Details of the application
MR & DM Watkins & Son has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a new full licence to abstract water from the River Wye between two reaches for the purpose of spray irrigation. The first reach is between National Grid References (NGRs) SO 57135 34429 and SO 56521 32936, and the second reach is between NGRs SO 58324 32668 and SO 58005 31172.
The application is to abstract water as follows:

25 cubic metres an hour

364 cubic metres a day

32,500 cubic metres a year
-
between 01 May and 30 September inclusive in each year.
