The national museums in the UK hold world-class collections. Lending objects is a key way in which the national museums can increase public access to their collections both in the UK and internationally, in museums and elsewhere.

This second Museum Partnership Report focuses on sharing collections and includes 22 national museums, covering 75 sites and focuses on activity during the financial year 2018/19.

The report shows that in 2018/19 the national museums lent 68,049 objects out on loan to 2,049 venues for display, which were seen by at least 32.8 million people.

A further 316,064 objects were lent to 6,314 institutions for research purposes.
