MWH Treatment Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a licence to abstract water from underground strata comprising of glacial till at Oswestry Water Treatment Works, Oswestry, Shropshire, from an area of abstraction centred at National Grid Reference (NGR) SJ 27837 29266, and transfer it to the River Morda at NGR SJ 29280 28140.
The application is to abstract water as follows:

36 cubic metres an hour

864 cubic metres a day

315,360 cubic metres a year

between 01 January and 31 December inclusive in each year.
The water will be used for dewatering the site to prevent interference with construction works.
