On 30 June 2011, the publication of the fourth annual report of the the National DNA Database Ethics Group was announced.

The report covered the activities of the group in considering ethical issues around the operation of the database and made three recommendations on the governance of all databases containing DNA information, the international exchange of DNA data, and the DNA sampling of children.

Home Office Minister James Brokenshire made a written ministerial statement on Thursday 30 June 2011 announcing the publication of the fourth annual report by the National DNA Database Ethics Group. The report covers the activities of the Group in the past year in considering ethical issues around the operation of the database and makes three recommendations on the governance of all databases containing DNA information and the international exchange of DNA data, and the DNA sampling of children.
