This is the government’s response to the House of Commons Science and Technology Committee report on national health screening.

This report welcomes the Committee’s enquiry into how the decision to screen for a condition is made and carried out in the UK. It sets out the government’s response to the report including how it will address each of the Committee’s 22 recommendations and maintain the UK’s reputation for high quality, evidence based screening.

Health screening is an important public health tool for the early diagnosis and treatment of a range of serious conditions.
