In 2020, the government asked the National Infrastructure Commission to examine greenhouse gas removal (GGR) technologies and assess the policies needed to incentivise their rollout.

The National Infrastructure Commission published its final Greenhouse gas removal technologies report on 29 July 2021, which included 8 recommendations to government.

The government response to the report sets out our position on the recommendations, and is published alongside a consultation on business models for engineered GGRs.
