Details
In the LGBT Action Plan, the Government Equalities Office committed to publish the data from the National LGBT Survey so it can be used by researchers, academics, the media, policy makers and the public at large.
The data viewer allows you to find information about the experiences of LGBT people in the UK, which was not available in the previously published research report. The viewer allows you to create your own tables by selecting the questions and respondents of interest to you.
Background
In July 2017, the government launched a survey to gather more information about the experiences of LGBT people in the UK. The survey response was unprecedented – over 108,000 people participated, making it the largest national survey of LGBT people in the world to date. We have published a detailed research report on the headline findings and a summary report. These focus on the experiences of LGBT people in the areas of safety, health, education and the workplace.
Though there were positive findings from the survey, and respondents were generally positive about the UK’s record on LGBT rights, there were some findings that are concerning. This is why we have published a comprehensive LGBT Action Plan that sets out what steps the government will take in response to the survey findings. This viewer allows you to access the data from the LGBT survey, as we committed to do in the action plan.
