Explains the government’s responses to the Low Pay Commission (LPC) recommendations. The LPC has recommended that the hourly rates for the National Minimum Wage (NMW) should increase in October 2016:
- from £6.70 to £6.95 for workers aged 21 and older
- from £5.30 to £5.55 for workers aged 18 to 20
- from £3.87 to £4.00 for workers aged 16 to 17
- from £3.30 to £3.40 for apprentices
The government accepts these recommendations in full.
