Details

Explains the government’s responses to the Low Pay Commission (LPC) recommendations. The LPC has recommended that the hourly rates for the National Minimum Wage (NMW) should increase in October 2016:

  • from £6.70 to £6.95 for workers aged 21 and older
  • from £5.30 to £5.55 for workers aged 18 to 20
  • from £3.87 to £4.00 for workers aged 16 to 17
  • from £3.30 to £3.40 for apprentices

The government accepts these recommendations in full.
