These annual reports summarise the activities of the UK NRL for Trichinella and Echinococcus throughout the year. They cover:
- core functions and duties of the national reference laboratory
- trichinella external quality assurance (EQA) and proficiency testing (PT) scheme results
- other NRL activities
The UK NRL for Trichinella and Echinococcus is responsible for:
- diagnostic testing of pigs and wild boars for the zoonotic parasite Trichinella sp.
- the UK’s annual surveillance of the parasite Echinococcus multilocularis
