This Evaluation privacy notice covers evaluation activities undertaken by approved contractors or evaluation specialists at Natural England. It covers surveys, questionnaires, interviews, focus groups and workshops to gather data to inform the work we do and understand the impact we are having.

Depending on the survey, the following information may be collected:

These are aimed at helping us learn and better understand the impact of Natural England. This in turn will help inform the work we do and the types of activities we offer.

The legal basis for processing your personal data is based on consent.
Consent to process your personal data
Workshops and focus groups
You can withdraw your consent by contacting foi@naturalengland.org.uk stating for the attention of the Evaluation team.
Interviews and surveys
You can withdraw this consent up to 10 working days after you have completed a survey or taken part in an interview. You do this by contacting us on the above email address. After this point, Natural England will make your data anonymous and combine it with other survey or interview data.
Who Natural England shares your data with
Natural England may share the personal data collected under this privacy notice with approved contractors who will be undertaking the activities or research on behalf of Natural England.
Natural England respects your personal privacy when responding to access to information requests. We only share information when necessary to meet the statutory requirements of the Environmental Information Regulations 2004 and the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
How long Natural England holds personal data
Natural England will keep your personal data for 3 years after the end of your participation in our research.
What happens if you do not provide the data requested
If you do not provide the data:

Natural England will not be able to email you about the project or invite you to take part in workshops, surveys or interviews

the project team will not be able to take your experience and opinions into account
Use of automated decision making or profiling
The information you provide is not used for:

automated decision making (making a decision by automated means without any human involvement)

profiling (automated processing of personal data to evaluate certain things about an individual)
Transfer of data outside the UK
Natural England will only transfer your data to another country that is deemed adequate for data protection purposes.
